Booking a test.

The test system is in turmoil, with inefficiencies and huge backlogs.

Pupils must rely on ‘Test Cancellation Apps or websites’ to secure tests, often at short notice or in unfamiliar locations, leading to last minute preparation and higher risk of fail - resulting in yet further backlogs.

Here is my step-by-step guide to booking a test

  1. Pass your Theory test allowing you to book your practical test.

  2. Try to search for a test in Tunbridge Wells or Sevenoaks initially in case new tests have been uploaded (its rare but does occur)

  3. Book (& pay) for a practical driving test in ANY location, at a date FAR ENOUGH AHEAD in future to allow for a ‘swap’

    * IGNORE any box that requires “ADI number” - this is NOT required.

  4. Use a driving test cancellation App/website (fees apply) to swap the test to a more appropriate LOCATION & TIME

    • please note, I only cover Tunbridge Wells or Sevenoaks Test Centres - I will not be able to assist you with any other locations and you will have to make your own arrangements using your own car or a more local instructor.

  5. Once the test is ‘swapped’ and you are happy with the location & date, CANCEL all active logins to Apps/websites before the test is swapped again (some services swap automatically, some you have to authorise a swap, don’t be caught out!)

  6. If you manage to secure a Tunbridge Wells or Sevenoaks driving test, then I “may” be able to assist you to swap the test with other local driving instructors for a more preferred time or location (this is NOT a guarantee). .

  7. Get ‘test focussed’ - always remember professional Driving Tuition will improve your chances of a test pass, although we cannot guarantee a pass.
